Payne PG8JAA036045AAJA Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose resistance is contingent on the current temperature. The control board needs to know the temperature throughout the whole system to do its job correctly. They tell the system when the temperature reaches a certain point.
Signs to watch for in a failing temp regulating thermister
- The main blower fails in the attempt to ramp up
- The entire system could never start up because of any bad thermistor
