The fan motor has a specific duty of keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat must be discharged into the air outside. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this tends to make things easier and reduce the price overall. Just make sure the replacement motor has the voltage that is the same and correct amp current as it is on the bad motor.
Some clues of a poorly performing fan motor
- An ugly screeching sound while the motor is beginning to turn
- The Payne motor does not move at all
- The motor smells burnt makes a zapping sound while in use
