Payne PG8MAA042090 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is in charge of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat has got to be dissipated. The motor can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this will make it a lot easier to install and cheaper too. It is important that the replacement motor has the exact voltage and the correct amp listing as it is on the current motor.
Major indications the fan motor is going to die
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or throws sparks while in use
- The Payne motor tries but fails to turn at all
- You can hear a grinding sound while the cooling fan turns
