Payne PG8MAA048090AAJA Limit Switch
A normal limit switch has a sensor in the air handler that decides when the heated air is warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. Limit switches exist due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
How do you know if your chief limit switch is not working right?
- The whole system begins to behave differently more often than not
- The heating and AC system will not begin or run for any length of time
