A normal AC expansion valve permits the refrigerant to expand into its regular vaporous form from its highly pressured liquid form. Air conditioning units could not emit cold air if it were lacking a functioning expansion valve.
Important hints your main expansion valve will eventually need to be replaced
- Your AC takes way too long to comfortably cool the indoors
- The cool flow of air is not as cool as than the usual air exiting the air handler
