Payne PY1PNB036060AAAA Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, which has a resistance that is dependent on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They notify the circuit board when a temperature reaches a certain point. The furnace or AC takes the temperature in order to ensure that things are as they should be.
Major clues the Payne thermister will die soon
- The entire system may not initiate the starting sequence due to any one improperly set thermistor
- The main blower fails to begin to ramp up to full speed
