The heat element forces the air to be warmed before being circulated throughout the house. Your furnace cannot produce nearly enough heated air to efficiently heat, if the heating element is damaged.
Clues the system heat element will need replacing
- Heat is not being made by your furnace at all
- The element does not look well, damaged and in need of replacement
- The element itself will not get warm whatsoever due to being worn out
