A thermistor is a type of resistor whose rated resistance depends on the current temperature. The main control board takes the temperature in some specific areas of the system to understand what is going on. They notify the main board when a certain temperature in increasing or decreasing.
Cues of a barely functioning thermister
- No component may not function because of any bad thermistor
- The system blower may refuse in its attempt to begin full speed blowing
