Royal Sovereign ARP-9409 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will reliable sense the proper flame during ignition. Because of the safety issues involved, when the flame sensor is activated the whole HVAC system will remain stopped until the problem is repaired.
Clues of a poorly working furnace flame sensor
- The heating system runs sporadically at the stroke of midnight after the second full moon following the second Sunday of the month
- The gas furnace is unwilling to produce heat and will shut everything down
- The main type of gas refuses to try to begin igniting and shuts off
