The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced sans the blade, this results in a simpler type of replacement and it is something you can do yourself. Symptoms of a deteriorating fan motor
- The compressor cooling motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound when it is spinning
- You can hear a grinding sound when the cooling fan is turning
