SPT WA-1000E Expansion Valve

Pretty much every air conditioning system has an expansion valve that permits the refrigerant to expand back into gaseous form from a high pressure liquid state. Your AC would not yield any cooled air if the valve was not functioning.

Red flags of an ineffective SPT expansion valve

Your AC unit takes a really long time in a bid to keep things cool
The air is well below the temp it really should be so as to feel comfortable in the house

If you decide on picking up or ordering, do your due diligence and cross-check the correct model as well as make a visual inspection so that you are positive that the right expansion valve is being ordered. You do not have to replace the part all by yourself. Hire someone with experience in your area to do it for you.
