SPT WA-1010H Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat that needs to be driven away. It can be replaced as a whole unit with the blade or by itself, which this will reduce install time and helps you save some money. Just make sure the replacement motor has the correct voltage listed as well as amperage as on the current fan motor.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my cooling fan motor is not working right?
- A terrible screeching sound when the cooling fan speeds up
- The SPT motor does not move the blade
- The compressor cooling motor smells burnt makes a zapping sound when it begins to turn
