SPT WA-1010H Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board will determine when to initiate an important defrosting cycle which helps to continue normal heating and cooling operations. The board relies on a specific sensor located somewhere by the condenser to make the decision on when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Simple indications of a worsening SPT defrost sensor board
- The system will not work at all because of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- The defrost sequence refuses to run especially when there is frost that makes the unit run like crap
- The main circuit board could throw a specific error code produced by a failing defrost board
