The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger then the house will never get warm enough. The limit switch contains a sensor in the heating area that can determine when the air is actually warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents.
Cues of an ineffective limit switch
- Your system is starting to erratically frequently
- The heating and AC system refuses to kick in or will not stay running longer than a minute
