SPT WA-1420E Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that can sense the acceptable flame during ignition. As you would probably could have guessed, if the sensor goes off the system will halt until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Key indicators that my safety flame sensor is crapping out?

system refuses to work no matter what - Any type of gas that has entered the furnace refuses to ignite and some type of error flashes on the main board
- The whole system works rarely at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
