The air conditioner for your house could not run if the expansion valve was broken. Expansion valves are used in AC systems and makes it easier for the refrigerant to expand back to its low-pressure vaporous form from a high pressure liquid state.
Indications of a worsening expansion valve
- Your cooling system takes a long time to appropriately keep the house cool as it should
- The air conditioned flow is warmer than you are accustomed to for the AC to cool the house
