SPT WA-8088E Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is in charge of keeping the compressor cool, due to the large amount of heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Be sure the new motor has the same voltage as well as amps as it is on the bad motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced with the blade or without as this results in a simpler type of replacement and reduce the price overall.
Simple indications poorly running fan motor
- A specific scraping sound when the motor turns
- The SPT motor cannot turn at all
- The cooling motor starts to smoke or shorts out as it spins
