The fan motor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. It can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this may make it a lot easier and cheaper for you. Be sure you get the voltage that is the same and amps as it is on the current motor.
What are the signs that the fan motor is almost dead?
- The motor begins to smoke or sparks as it turns
- You hear a scraping sound as the motor turns
- The SPT motor does not move at all
