A transformer is a regular occurrence in most things electrical which includes your forced air system and it converts the electrical output usually from a higher voltage to a lower voltage. Heating and cooling transformers are all different and you should be aware of the specific amps and voltages needed. When one needs replacing, make sure to get one that is assessed for the correct voltage for the sake of safety.
