The defrost sensor control board commences the defrost cycle which assists to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The defrost board is relayed information from a sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to ascertain when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
How do you know when your defrost board is almost going bad?
- Defrost mode will not initiate even though there is excessive frost built up
- The primary control board may show a specific error code if the defrost board goes out
