Sanyo XS1872 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that can sense the flame upon ignition. As with most safety features, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the whole HVAC system will remain stopped until the problem is dealt with.
What red flags are there that my flame sensor is on its last leg?
- Your furnace refuses to start operating and will shut everything down
- The whole system starts on certain occasions at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- The LP or natural gas will not burn and the whole system shuts down
