Most systems will not activate unless this board is accurately installed and configured. The control board is made to direct the gas valve, the ignition igniter, the flame sensor and the blower all in one unit. The chosen circuit board should have a replacement part number that matches both the make and model of your particular system. You must be careful when you choose a control board due to differences in brand and air handler types.
Some warnings your main board is in dire straights
- The whole unit is unwilling to do anything correctly
- Power to the circuit board has to be reset frequently for the thermostat to kick in
- There is a certain error code being displayed on the front of the control board
