Trane GEH Ignition Control Board
The main reason to have an ignition control board is that it controls gas intake, the ignition sequence and other safety devices built into the system. The ignition control board was always an important board that some companies have moved to be a piece of the main circuit board for safety reasons.
Simple indications of a failing major ignition board
- Signal from thermostat never reaches the Trane control board
- Every other thing within the furnace is inspected and seems to be fine
- Initial sequence does not kick in when it receives a proper signal
