Trane GEH Limit Switch
The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch contains a sensor in the heating area that decides if and when the air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
General indicators that your limit switch needs to be replaced
- The heating and cooling system will not begin or will not stay running like it is supposed to
- The HVAC system begins to stop suddenly more often than not
