Trane GEV Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board controls if and when to commence the defrosting phase which helps to defrost your outdoor unit. The defrost board is relayed information from a temperature sensor that can be found near the condenser, in order to make the decision on when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
General warnings of a worsening defrost board
- Self defrost sequence has not run for a while despite the fact that there is a lot of frost built up
- Most systems will end up not running due in part to way too much frost build-up
- The primary control board may issue a specific error code produced by a bad defrost control board
