Trane GEV Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is a very important part of the safety feature set that will dependably sense the acceptable flame when igniting the system. As with other safety devices, when the sensor is triggered by an event the whole HVAC system will remain stopped until that particular problem is fixed.
Chief elements of a bad Trane flame sensor
- The gas entering the furnace has difficulty trying to begin igniting and closes the gas valve
- Your system will not fire up and will shut everything down
- HVAC system operates sporadically at the stroke of midnight after the second full moon following the second Sunday of the month
