Trane GEV Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a switch in the heating area that determines if and when the air is warm enough that it can be circulated throughout the house. The main reason limit switches are made is because if the air never warms up the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
Major warnings of a weakening limit switch
- Your Trane system refuses to kick in or will not stay running for any length of time
- The whole system is beginning to ramp up but then stops time after time
