A basic electrical transformer is a regular occurrence in most things electrical which includes your forced air system as it changes a normal current of electricity to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. If you need a replacement, make sure you buy the one that is assessed for the correct voltage that is needed. Transformers can have different specs so be sure you replace it with the same volts and amps requirements.
