Trane PTHD070 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost sensor control board instructs the system to activate an important defrosting cycle in order to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. The defrost sensor board is influenced by a defrost sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to determine when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Clues of a declining defrost board
- The system will cease to function at all because of lack of airflow through the outdoor unit
- The main circuit board might give out an error number produced by too much frost
- Defrost session never starts even though there is quite a bit frost that makes the unit run like crap
