Trane PTHD090 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor has the main duty of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat that needs to be dissipated. The motor can be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and cheaper too. Just make certain the new motor has the correct voltage as well as amperage as it is on the bad motor.
Hints of a declining Trane fan motor
- The motor catches fire or throws sparks while in use
- The Trane motor tries but fails to turn the blade
- You can hear a rubbing noise while the cooling fan speeds up
