Trane PTHD120 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch in the heat exchanger that senses, or governs, when the heated air is actually warm enough that it can be circulated throughout the house. Limit switches were created because if the air is not warm enough the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
Major indications critical limit switch is on its last leg
- The HVAC system starts to act differently from time to time
- The HVAC system will not initiate or run longer than a minute
