The defrost sensor control board controls if and when to commence the defrosting phase which may be needed in order to rid your unit of frost that can build up. The control board depends on a specific sensor located near the condenser to agree when to begin.
Simple signals the defrost sensor board has very little life left
- The system will stop functioning at all because of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- Defrost mode has not run for a while even though there is a lot of frost that has built up
- The primary control board may signify a type of error code produced when the defrost control board fails to receive a signal
