The defrost sensor control board determines when to initiate the defrosting phase which actually helps to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The control board is relayed information from a temperature sensor located near the condenser to ascertain when to begin.
Clues the defrost sensor board should be replaced
- The AC may cease to function for the fact of the amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- Unit defrost session does not begin even though there is quite a bit frost that has built up
- The main control board might give out a specific error code if the defrost board goes out
