A normal limit switch is a switch in the air handler that senses, or governs, when the air is warmed to a point for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. Limit switches are built because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.

- The heating and AC system will not initiate nor will it stay running even though max temp has not been reached
- The whole system is starting to behave differently more than once
