Whirlpool ATE0955BPP0 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has a specific duty of keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. It can be replaced on its own without the blade, this results in a simpler type of replacement and it is something you can do yourself. Just make certain the replacement motor has the correct voltage and the same amps as it is on the bad motor.
How can I tell if my fan motor has a need to be replaced?
- The main cooling motor begins to smoke or sparks as it turns
- An audible crackling noise when the motor starts
- The Whirlpool cooling motor does not move the blade
