The flame sensor is a safety feature that will sense the exact flame in accordance with the initial ignition sequence. As with most devices used for safety reason, if the sensor get triggered the entire HVAC system will stop until the problem is dealt with.
Simple signals the primary flame sensor is not going to last much longer
- The gas finds it impossible to start an ignition sequence and the whole system shuts down
- Your gas furnace is unwilling to even begin to start and will shut everything down
- The entire heating system will start occasionally only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
