In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a fluctuating resistance that will fluctuate depending on the thermal temperature. They notify the HVAC system when a certain temperature has been reached. The system control board needs to know the temperature in several different areas to do its job correctly.
How do you know if your all-important thermister needs replacing?
