Almost all AC systems have an expansion valve that permits the refrigerant to expand back to its low-pressure vapor form from its highly pressured liquid form. Air conditioning units would be worthless if the valve was not doing its job.
How do you know if your main expansion valve has to be replaced?
- Cooled air is not cold enough as it should be in order to feel comfortable

Before buying or ordering, do your due diligence and double check the model number as well as make a visual inspection so that you are positive that the right expansion valve is the one being purchased. Replacing a new expansion valve is not difficult assuming you know what you are doing and have the tools to get it done.
