Whirlpool ATR0955SPP0 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch has a sensor in the heating area that decides if and when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated. The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
Key symptoms to watch for in a failing limit type switch
- The heating and cooling system refuses to kick in or run well longer than 10 minutes
- Your system is beginning to erratically frequently
