The defrost sensor board commences the defrosting phase which may be needed in order to continue normal heating and cooling operations. The control board relies on a sensor located somewhere by the condenser to make the decision on when to begin.
Symptoms poorly running defrost board
- The system may stop working because of way too much frost build-up
- The primary control board could display an alphanumeric error code if the defrost board goes out
- Unit defrost session will not kick in even though there is a large amount of frost that needs to be removed
