A conversion kit allows a furnace to switch energy sources from a single source of energy to something different, perhaps from natural gas that gets pumped to your house to electric or any other source depending on your needs. Energy conversion kits are not available for every system made. Getting one is only possible for certain types that are designed to be able to handle a switch. If you decide to buy one you may want to consider having it fitted by a pro, for safety reasons.
