Whynter ARC-12S Blower Wheel
The primary blower wheel is like a squirrel cage that is attached to the main blower motor, which is traditionally used to generate airflow throughout a house. It is occasionally called a squirrel cage because of the obvious likeness to that of a pet hamster wheel. Regardless of what you call it, it is a necessary device of any HVAC system that needs proper airflow.
Subtle hints that the main blower wheel has very little life left
- You observe much less air coming from the blower
- If any one of the fins has been twisted and does not spin right
- A clanking sound is noticed as the HVAC system starts up
