Whynter ARC-12S Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is in charge of keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. The unit may be replaced with the blade or without as this tends to make things easier and make it a probable DIY project. Take the time to ensure you buy a replacement motor with the same voltage and the same amps as on the current fan motor.
Major signs the cooling fan motor will need replacing
- An ugly rubbing or scraping sound while the motor stops
- The Whynter motor tries but fails to turn the blade
- The cooling motor smells burnt or throws sparks when in use
