Whynter ARC-131GD Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat has got to be dissipated. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced with or without the blade, this will make it a lot easier to install and cheaper too. It is critical that the new motor has the proper voltage and the precise amperage as it is on the current motor.
Red flags to watch for in a bad condenser fan motor
- The cooling motor begins to smoke or throws sparks while in use
- The Whynter cooling motor cannot turn the blade
- A constant grinding noise as the motor is just starting
